DOIA is named for erraldoia (er-al-DOY-a), meaning ‘giant’ in Basque. Taken from our Founder, Harriet’s, favourite quote; ‘The giant looks in the mirror and sees nothing’ - Donda West.
DOIA embraces the sentiment of believing in yourself and your ideas even if you don’t always see your potential. A metaphor for keeping grounded yet staying elevated and always remembering the importance of dreaming. West explains that even though the giant sees nothing, ‘everyone else sees the giant.’ You don’t always see in yourself what others see or know you are capable of.
